Riding On A Bike With No Name

Riding On A Bike With No Name

My foot has decided that this week I needed to start some additional training to take some strain off of my right ankle joint.  I am training for the Cascades Ragnar in Sept. I decided to start biking this week, and do some strength, and cardo training with only one day of running. I went out Monday early morning on my son’s bike. Keep in mind he is 9 and this is a 26″ bike so it fits me. What I did not know when setting out on my training day, was that the bikes pedal is hanging off the post, and the back wheel is bent. the chain on the bike is rusty and loud. I am determined to get a work out in my legs. I rode that bike 7.3 miles. The whole time I was riding on the road, the bike would automatically shift gears on me,from really easy to hard, and so forth. This 7.3 mile ride felt like I rode up a large hill the whole time. Work out success!!! Remember to all you out there, if I can do this anyone can do this! I had many stares from the cars passing me and apparently I was out when it was morning rush hour traffic. When someone stared at me, I just smiled and waved . When your driving down the road, and see a gal on a bike that looks a little bit shabby, just give her a little extra room, and smile and wave. I am having so much fun learning so many new things about the running world, and meeting so many new people! This next week I am hoping to get my other bike up and running so I can double my exercise and add a couple runs in on my foot.
